GALLERY: Anberlin – The Tivoli

In preparation for Anberlin’s reunion tour, lead singer Stephen Christian confessed that he’s just excited to play all the fan favourites again and watch the crowd lose their voices to their back catalogue. “That’s what this is all about. It’s about playing the songs that the fans love. We aren’t here to push a new record, this is not the comeback trail, this is not like that at all. We are just like let’s go have the best time” and they definitely succeeded at that. Kicking off their Australian tour in Brisbane over the weekend, the pop rock five-piece played to an excited crowd at The Tivoli that was ready to get nostalgic with the Florida favourites. With tracks like ‘Never Take Friendship Personal’, ‘Adelaide’, ‘Impossible’, ‘The Resistance’ and ‘Feel Good Drag’ gracing the setlist, they made sure they covered all bases. The crowd sang passionately to every word and even helped Stephen crowd surf at one moment during the show.
