SINGLE REVIEW: LØLØ – omg

Last year breakout artist LØLØ gave us the undeniable anthem “u turn me on (but you give me depression)”, which by its title you already know how fucking good it was. And now the LA based singer-songwriter is back with the perfectly chaotic pop-punk moment, “omg”.

Sonically reminiscent of GAYLE and Maggie Lindemann, she begins with soft guitar led production that draws listeners in with this false sense of security before she hits them with this magnetic and brash chorus. A sonical punch of guitars and drums, the chorus is this perfect collision of emotions. It is also going to make for an epic moment in her live show.

Exploring the intrusive thoughts that come to her mind, “omg” captures the head-spinning polar opposite emotions that can happen simultaneously. “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t make it stop. My head, my head’s about to fall off. Turn it, turn it, turn it, turn it off. I’m okay, I’m okay, no, I’m not. Oh my God” she sings during the frantic chorus.

“omg” is another stellar moment from LØLØ, and cements her as a must watch artist in 2023.
