SINGLE REVIEW: Yb. – Change Your Mind

Yb. is in his introductory era, and he’s making sure you take note of who he is. In three short years the Brisbane based musician has built a growing fanbase who are eager to hear how he’s evolving. with impressive streaming numbers coming in, two Queensland Music Award nominations, and support slots for the likes of San Cisco, Yb. IS the real deal.

His velvety new single ‘Change Your Mind’ is an alt-pop tune with a funk injected punch that will have you sliding onto the dance floor. With echoing vocals, a groovy baseline, and steady drums, this track has an immediate catchiness that is equally infectious and captivating for its 3 and a half minute duration.

Exploring the acknowledgement of your feelings, sometimes it’s easier said than done to be completely honest with yourself. Looking at the breakdown of a relationship, he acknowledges that he’s not in control of someone else’s tendencies. “I could see your face, never been good at hiding it” he honestly sings.

As the first official taste of his forthcoming debut EP, I hope the sonical foundations of ‘Change Your Mind’ he’s established with Stevan are further explored, because this really is the perfect sound and vision for Yb.
