SINGLE REVIEW: Muroki – Find Me

New Zealand rising star Muroki is ready to have you dancing with the release of his infectious new single ‘Find Me’. Dropping ahead of joining BENEE for her highly anticipated Australian tour, followed by an East Coast run of headline dates, this song hints that this may be only time you get to see him play to venues of this size.

‘Find Me’ is an anthem in its own right. With an energy similar to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop This Feeling’ and every Jamiroquai song, you will find yourself immediately sliding into a euphoric groove. There is also this soulful production and vocal approach that is reminiscent of John Legends’ recent material. Kicking into this slinky groove intertwined with funky drums and guitars, you can immediately imagine how liberating the live version will feel as he brings this song to the stage.

Written as his take on dance music, he makes sure the listener knows exactly what he wants them to do for the 3 minute duration, and that is to DANCE. “Come on and dance. I know you can baby. Find me” he sings as he encourages someone to come find him on the dance floor. Keeping the tone very playful, all of the lyrics stay in that lane too. “So why don’t we samba. I know you wanna have fun yeah. I know you’re digging this song yeah”.

Muroki is a name you don’t want to forget. After being the first signing to BENEE and Poppy Tohill’s label Olive Records, and now with the energetic hit that is ‘Find Me’, I think 2022 is going to be a big year for Muroki.
