Perth rising stars Great Gable are ready to become your new Western Australian obsession. The dynamic four-piece are no strangers to some of your playlists, and have extensively trekked across the country, but as they continue to drop more new music following their 2020 debut album ‘Tracing Faces’ they’re tapping into a wider audience who are only just discovering their chilled out indie-rock soundscapes.
Their new single ‘Our Love’ is the bands most palatable and soothing releases yet. The mid-tempo indie-rock track could be sonically found somewhere between Spacey Jane and Angus Stone with a contrasting approach to Alex Whiteman’s vocal delivery. With both a melodic approach intertwined with more spoken-like moments, there is a really interesting shift in production throughout the duration which keeps it really engaging.
The dreamy track is all about experiencing the moment where you see the morning light come through your blinds and hit the face of the person you love. It’s the romantic sun-soaked experience which tugs on your heartstrings and confirms that you in-fact are in love with them. “As time rolls on and you come to find, our love is on the wall in the morning light” Whiteman sings.
