SINGLE REVIEW: Yung Bae feat. Sam Fischer and Pink Sweat$ – Silver And Gold

Portland based producer Yung Bae has been increasingly asserting himself as someone you need to get acquainted with. Since releasing his debut album ‘Bae’ in 2014 he’s been signed to Arista Records/Sony Music Entertainment and been hitting you with a unique fusion of jazz, funk, pop, hip hop and disco. And now he’s got another funky track to soundtrack your sunny days with Sam Fischer and Pink Sweat$.

‘Silver And Gold’ is an anthem in its own right. From the very first listen you will be drawn into this hopeful, empowering and playful sonic that will immediately bring a smile to your face and have you ready to dance your problems away. Creating a similar energy to Rudimental, Macklemore, Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen’s ‘These Days’, there is just a euphoric feeling that oozes throughout the nearly 3 minute duration.

Sam Fischer and Pink Sweat$ take lead in the vocal department and sonically bring a distinct light and shade between the two of them. Capturing the sentiment of trusting yourself and where you’re at in life that if you want it you can make it happen. “Everybody come together. When we unite, it’s better. We’re gonna dance forever” they sing during the euphoric chorus, and it’s such a powerful mantra to embrace. But the lyric that truly stands out is Fischer’s opening verse that perfectly sets the foundations for the song. “Can’t swim, but I’m not gonna drown. Jump in and I’ll figure it out. Stupid, but I’m running my mouth. Like I don’t ever doubt what I’m talking about”.

From the very first listen ‘Silver And Gold’ will get stuck in your head and this very addictive song will never want to leave.
