renforshort is no stranger to giving us some angsty pop-rock anthems with a discography quickly filling up with them including; ‘i drive me mad’, ‘virtual reality’ and ‘nostalgic (luv sick). With her new EP ‘off saint dominique’ slated for a June 4 release, the Canadian singer-songwriter has delivered another belter that will have you ready to ecstatically jump around in a mosh pitt.
‘fall apart’ marks the first ever song she’s co-produced, and with the help of Stint she has really honed her sound and vision perfectly. It’s a continuation of the Avril Lavigne meets Arctic Monkeys sonic that she’s always strived to capture. It’s hyper energetic and punchy, while still not losing the emotional sentiment of the lyrics. Her contrast and versatility in showing those different sides is impressive with her last single ‘exception’ truly highlighting that through its very vulnerable and intimate production.
Collaborating with glaive, they explore wanting to be there for someone even during their darkest moments and embracing the mental health struggles we all face. “I’ll see you fall apart, it’s dark, it’s you. Can’t wait to fall apart, with you, with you” she sings before then questioning “I’m pulling myself off the floor, maybe it’s just me who wants to fall apart, with you”.
‘fall apart’ is full of high octane energy and will undoubtedly become another punchy anthem in her live set.
