Behind The Scenes Of Eluera’s Music Video For New Single ‘Petty’

Eluera is serving us some straight-up pop bangers, and I’m already obsessed. 2020 saw the Central Coast based singer-songwriter dropping the intoxicating ‘Moderation’, ‘Good Girl’ and ‘Guts’ that immediately captivated listeners with their infectious hooks. With a sound similar to FLETCHER, Lennon Stella and early Dua Lipa, she is ready to keep the good vibes rolling with her first release of 2021.

‘Petty’ is another slice of pop perfection that certifies her status as a newcomer that you NEED to get acquainted with ASAP. The pulsating guitar, drum and synth led production amplifies the playful concept of the song. Finding a sweet spot within its production, she doesn’t over compensate in trying to deliberately make it bigger. Instead it feels really natural and has a chilled out vibe that contrasts the pulsating energy of the synths. It’s a balance that makes this song so easy to immediately singalong to, and will have you pressing replay on it VERY quickly.

Reflecting on the idea of knowing you’re in the wrong and getting upset over something stupid, she owns being a little petty and relishing in a minor fight in a relationship, and turning it into something bigger. It’s something I am DEFINITELY guilty for in my past relationships, and one I will probably be guilty for again in the future. So this song spoke to me on a spiritual level. “I don’t think I’m done yet being petty. I’ll let it set in. Better off forgetting, but I’m perfectly content with being petty” she playfully sings in the infectious hook. But to just give you an idea of the level of pettiness we are talking about, the line that particularly stands out is; “So I’ll wait til your online, just to post that pic. The one you said you hated, cause i’m showing too much skin”. That’s a giant ass MOOD!
