SINGLE REVIEW: Motez feat. The Kite String Tangle – Give Me Space

We love a brooding and euphoric electronic number, and Motez and The Kite String Tangle have teamed up to deliver just that with ‘Give Me Space’. On top of being an incredible artist, Motez is also a very sought after producer who has done remixes for the likes of Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and Disclosure. And having done a remix of The Kite String Tangle’s track ‘North’ last year, it only seemed fitting that they properly collaborated and gave you a moment of retrospection.

With a gradual build, the production begins very light with a pulsating 80’s synth inspired beat inserting itself into the spotlight as it begins to get louder and louder until it erupts into this fulfilled and dreamy vision for the chorus. There are so many layers to this song that highlight the emotional and experimental attributes. It’s a song that deserves multiple listens to really soak in everything it punches.

Lyrically the song explores needing space to figure things out in life, and it’s something that we all face at one point or another. Life can just get too much, especially in these strange and confusing times, so it’s good to sometimes just step back and make that time. “Give me space, give me time, to realise, to change somehow” TKST’s Danny Harley sings.

Dropping just in time for the weekend, ‘Give Me Space’ perfectly soundtracks those final hours in the sun with a drink in hand and close friends around. It’s got a really euphoric layer to the production that builds and soars.
