SINGLE REVIEW: Lana Del Rey – Chemtrails Over The Country Club

After a very long and drawn out promotional teasing period, Lana Del Rey is FINALLY releasing her seventh studio album ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ on March 19. And to get you even more excited about the record, she’s dropped the title track along with a stunning music video that transports you to the lush Hollywood hills.

The cinematic track feels very grand within it’s atmospheric and visual leaning production intertwined with soaring orchestral elements. Melodically it sounds quite similar to ‘Young And Beautiful’ with its naturally anthemic hook that doesn’t try too hard to create that moment of intoxication. There is a calming aura that surrounds this song, and you will find yourself melting to her vocal delivery upon the very first listen.

The lyrical imagery aesthetically sets the foundations for the forthcoming record with mention of her sister, girlfriends, partner, a country club, cars, summer, running away, as well as astrological elements. “I’m on the run with you, my sweet love. There’s nothing wrong contemplating God, under the chemtrails over the country club” she sings.

‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ is Lana Del Rey’s strongest single in years. It’s a beautiful moment of pure lushness, and it’s sad that controversy has overshadowed this release because it really does have strong potential to be a special track in her discography, and will be a definite fan favourite for years.
