Holy Holy are a band who are always evolving, adapting and shapeshifting within their sound and vision.Their third studio album ‘My Own Pool Of Light’ took an experimental approach within the production and saw them layering these big hooks and heavy guitars with vulnerable confessions and observations.
With 2020 taking a drastic turn, and tours getting cancelled and postponed left, right and centre, Holy Holy really took the time to dive into their fourth studio album and figure out what the next step in this evolution looked and sounded like for them. ‘Port Rd’ featuring Queen P is the first taste of what’s to come, and it’s a very eclectic track that shapeshifts their sound yet again with the fusion of hip-hop intertwined with their alt-rock roots.
Beginning with a guitar riff, atmospheric production, and growing drums, lead singer Timothy Carroll’s rich and spacey vocals lead you into this moody world that is in a continuous incline up until Queen P’s climax addition. Delivering something so strong and empowering, her verses are so special and captivating.
‘Port Rd’ is a journey of sonical exploration. It’s a captivating 3 minute listen that will have you absolutely spellbound by their ability to collaborate and create something so special and unique that spotlights two very different artists in an equal spotlight together.
