PREMIERE: Lakelend – Fall Down (Stripped) Video

Lakelend is eager to show listeners the emotively charged sides of his artistry through the contrast of different perspectives and vantage points.

The Melbourne electropop newcomer dropped his uplifting debut single ‘Fall Down’ earlier this year which was layered with pulsating synths and polished pop beats. Tapping into a sound that is reminiscent of LAUV, Conan Gray and LANY, the indie-pop production felt super fresh and exciting.

Contrasting the dreamy upbeat production with an emotionally driven storyline, he reflected on the all rounded experience of first love and first heartbreak.

Before he moves onto the next chapter of his releases, he wants to give listeners a re-imagined take on his debut single through a stunning stripped back video which highlights the emotive undertones.

“Because the original is quite upbeat and boppy, I wanted to show in its most raw and emotional form too. I think it’s important for artists to be putting out live performances that expose them in their truest colours. I think it’s a lot easier these days to hide behind clean cut production, and nothing can match or be exactly re-created in a live performance setting” he explained to ThomasBleach.com about why he wanted to film this rendition of the song.

Filmed at Caribbean Rollerama in the South East suburbs of Melbourne, this one take video, which was directed, filmed and edited by Cian Marangos at The AV Club, allows listeners to hear him in a whole different light.

The aesthetically pleasing video is simply beautiful and engaging to watch from start to finish, and will be officially released on Thursday July 2 on his YouTube channel. But you can check out the exclusive premiere right now BELOW;
