Introducing themselves to the world through their explorative EP’s ‘London’ and ‘New York’ in 2017-18, Abroad are ready to continue articulating their sound and image through a bold kaleidoscope of inspiration.
Following the release of their recent single ‘Home’ earlier this year, ‘Alright, Ok’ hears the East Coast duo building upon the foundational moody aesthetics and heading towards a even more cinematic gradient.
Beginning in minimalistic territory, the brooding dance beat builds during the second verse and explodes in the chorus with an energy that deserves to have it’s own festival moment. With a sound similar to Rufus Du Sol, Crooked Colours and Boo Seeka, the song is not only captivating in a vibey sonical sense, but there is also an emotional heart behind it too.
Reflecting on getting lost in the joys of new love, lead vocalist Jack Dawson candidly confesses; “you’re everything I need, you are all I think about”. This loved up lyrical approach helps add to the euphoric sentiment that the production holds.
With over 3 million collective streams on their previous releases, Abroad are an exciting act to acquaint yourself with, especially at the beginning of a new chapter with a lot of new music on the way.
‘Alright, Ok’ will be officially released on Thursday 25 June, but you can exclusively listen to it BELOW;
