SINGLE REVIEW: Tones And I – Ur So Fucking Cool

There’s no denying that Tones And I has become one of the biggest pop stars in the world. With Grammy talk already buzzing, the Byron Bay singer-songwriter is ready to keep giving the world strong tracks, with big hooks and a piece of her quirky heart.

‘Ur So Fucking Cool’ has been a fan favourite in her set for the past eight months thanks to her candid storytelling which details a lousy Los Angeles superstar party where superficial conversation was the only thing on the menu.

Left craving an actual connection, she wrote this song, and it’s one of her best yet. “Walk into a party, feeling out of place. Everyone’s too cool, everyone’s too fake. I try to start a conversation but I can’t seem to relate. Yo, I’m about to get an Uber. Cause you’re so fucking cool” she honestly sings.

Layered with dark and brooding production, it follows in the footsteps of ‘Bad Child’ and shows a different side to her artistry. The pulsating synths are glitchy and cool which ironically fits in with the lyrical inception.

This is one of her strongest releases yet as it’s catchy, experimental and, well, it’s just fucking cool.
