SINGLE REVIEW: Tru’ – Lose You

‘Lose You’ marks the beginning for Western Sydney based singer, songwriter, producer and engineer Tru’.

Her debut single is a reflective indie-pop moment that soaks itself in dreamy atmospheric production that uplifts the brooding core.

Setting the foundations for this musical project in 2018, she released a collaborative EP with WULFE which heard her experimenting with different sounds. But ‘Lose You’ is a refined exploration of the solo artist she wants to be.

With the dreamy pop polish over the chorus, she immediately transports you into this glittery world that embraces emotional vulnerability. Confessing her fears of losing someone, she gets impatient with waiting for them to take the next step. But instead of seeing hope she just sees a fading.

“It’s just not my time. But when will the time be mine?” she candidly questions during the opening moments of the song. As she further explores the complexity of her emotions within this situation she confesses; “I don’t want to lose you”.

Sonically the song is reminiscent of Robyn’s disco influenced synth pop discography with a bit more of an alternative core. It’s a brooding and moody pop moment that promises a very exciting future from Tru’.
