SINGLE REVIEW: The Pussycat Dolls – React

The Pussycat Dolls are officially back, and they aren’t wasting anytime by immediately delivering you a dance floor banger.

At its core ‘React’ is a quintessential Pussycat Doll song. It’s seductively fresh, infectiously catchy and has a retrospective dance element that will immediately have you ready to break the choreography out on the dance floor.

For the production of the song they haven’t stepped too far away from the material they were delivering at the height of their career. It builds in that nostalgia factor into the heart of the song without being too gimmicky or obvious. Instead they just focus on doing what they’ve always done and that is create a brilliant pop moment that is ready to climb the charts and sit on heavy rotation at radio.

The song is a playful exploration of the mind-games we play when we flirt with someone that we’re interested in. And unsurprisingly the PCD girls capture that seductive taunting so well with the captivating hook.

“Every time I leave, you pull me closer. I hang up the phone, you call me back. Why don’t you mess me round like you’re supposed to? You’re turning me cruel cause I’m just wanting you to react” Nicole Scherzinger sings during the hook.

There was some online conversation surrounding whether The Pussycat Dolls would still be relevant in this current musical climate, and some doubted if they could actually successfully pull this comeback off, but they’ve proved them wrong as ‘React’ is a bonafide hit and a brilliant kickstart for a new era of PCD.
