Didirri is an artist that continues to impress with his smooth melodies and his vulnerable storytelling. Over the past couple of years he’s cemented himself as a prominent fixture in the Australian touring scene with a bunch of headline shows, support slots and coveted festival appearances under his belt.
Next week the Melbourne singer-songwriter will compete in the highly coveted Eurovision: Australia Decides competition and he’s finally unveiled the single he will be taking with him to the big stage.
‘Raw Stuff’ is as vulnerable of a track as you can imagine from it’s title alone, and hears him exploring the ups and downs of life that contribute to the heavy emotions we lead our thoughts with.
Lead by a simple piano accompaniment, he croons through the first verse and chorus before sweeping strings add an orchestral flair and helps the song soar higher into the cinematic spectrum.
Singing about missing Christmases, over thinking, anxieties and more, he simply sums it up with the refrain; “life has some raw stuff” which is a highly relatable lyric that may seem simple to some but it actually holds a lot of vulnerability and power.
This is a very beautiful song that has a lot of potential to be impactful and theatrical on the Eurovision: Australia Decides stage.
