SINGLE REVIEW: Fickle Friends – Pretty Great

Always finding a way to make people move, Fickle Friends seem to continually deliver the energy, the sass, the emotion and a damn great singalong with every release.

After taking the majority of last year off to hit the studio, the British indie-pop four piece are ready to  kickstart 2020 by giving listeners a new taste of their forthcoming sophomore studio album.

‘Pretty Great’ is a slick indie-pop song that packs a punch within the polished synth pop production.  Reflecting on the repressed memories that we try to hide in the back of our minds when a friendship or relationship ends, they learn that it’s important to embrace and remember them as they were special to us for a reason.

“Now I’m alone and I feel so dead. Wish I could be talking to you instead. The only thing I refuse to forget is when you said I was the fucking best” lead singer Natti Shiner confidently sings during the chorus.

Unlike their last single ‘Amateurs’ which was a total grower, this song immediately grabs your attention and will have you grooving along instantaneously while Shiner’s vocals slide through the verses and chorus.

The production is dreamy indie-pop meets cool synths and I love the slick vibe that this song creates.
