‘Dream Catch Me’ is one of those pop songs you will never forget. As soon as the deep bass begins and the guitar riff comes in, you will be automatically transported back to a time when it was played every hour on commercial radio and pleasantly found away to annoy you with it’s catchy hook.
12 years on, and Newton is still releasing folk inspired indie-pop songs that have a commercial sensibility. While his profile may not be as massive as it once was, he still has a very loyal fanbase that were itching at the chance to see him play stripped back and acoustically on his new run of Australian dates.
Returning to Brisbane to play at The Triffid, Faulkner took his fans for a trip down memory lane playing a mix of old and new songs like ‘Brick By Brick’, ‘Clouds’, ‘Teardops’, ‘In My Head’, ’Write It On Your Skin’ and obviously ‘Dream Catch Me’.
