In 2017 Spacey Jane bursted onto the scene with their breezy indie-pop with surf rock qualities that complimented their geographical location. Hailing from Fremantle, this dynamic four piece have continued to captivate listeners from across the country with their catchy hooks and easy listening energy.
So with their likeable qualities, it’s no surprise that 2019 has been a big year for them. Following a massive sold out tour and coveted appearances at Bigsound, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and Yours & Owls, they’ve also been dropping the big tunes with ‘Good Grief’ and ‘Good For You’ which have gained big traction on triple J.
Ahead of another massive Australian tour, followed by an inclusion on the Laneway 2020 line up, they’ve dropped a new song to get acquainted with.
‘Head Cold’ continues the laid-back indie-pop and surf rock sound that their previous singles have injected into your airwaves. Reflecting on a restless sleep, lead singer Caleb Harper explains the delirious state and sweaty environment that a night like this creates.
“Stare at the ceiling with a steady gaze. Tossing and turning while the shuffle plays. Thinking of you under a head cold. I’ll be dreaming of you till I get old” he sings during the second verse.
The hook captures that emotionally chilled out and raw essence that their discography successfully embodies so far. It’s a song that is easily memorable and is one that will continue to grow and take shape in their live show.
