SINGLE REVIEW: AJ Mitchell – Say It Again

2019 has been a good year for AJ Mitchell. The Illinois singer-songwriter has spent the whole year releasing a string of singles that is quickly growing his discography to have a lot of depth and growth. He’s collaborated with Nina Nesbitt, Digital Farm Animals and Ava Max and has shown so many different sides to his artistry. And his hard work is paying off, with just being announced as MTV’s new Push Artist which is guaranteed to boost his profile in a massive way.

With a lot of slow jams and atmospheric oozing RNB-pop moments under his belt, he’s stepped it up to deliver his catchiest single yet. ‘Say it Again’ is a defining track in his discography as this is the pulsating pop song that could project him into mainstream success.

With an atmospheric synth layering the basics for the verse, he sings about a love interest and knowing how this one feels uniquely different. With the production building up, the chorus ignites with a oozing and pulsating synth with 80’s inspired drums and a guitar riff that simultaneously feels nostalgic and fresh.

The infectious nature of the hook is so captivating and will have you immediately wanting to dance and sing along to this coming of age love song.

“Say you love me now. Say you need me now. Over and over, come closer and closer. Then say it, say it again”.

At only 18 years old, AJ Mitchell is only really experiencing things for the first time and that’s exciting because we have the opportunity to feel the ups and downs with him as he starts to explore his emotions. And ‘Say it Again’ is a really promising track that will introduce him to a whole new audience.
