2019 was another massive year for Brisbane Festival with the celebration of arts combining specially curated concerts at The Riverstage, in the round exclusive gigs with Emma Louise and Paul Dempsey at The Tivoli, art installations across South Bank like ‘1000 Doors’, the nightly Brisbane River light show, unique theatre experiences like the premiere of Fangirls The Musical as well as the iconic annual Riverfire. There was honestly something for everyone and that’s why Brisbane Festival has become such a pivotal time for the arts community.
To close out the 2019 season, City And Colour returned to Australia for an exclusive, one off show in the lead up to his forthcoming sixth studio album ‘A Pill For Loneliness’, out October 4. This Brisbane Festival exclusive was a celebration in so many different ways. Turning it into an afternoon of chilled out vibes, Asha Jeffries, Didirri, Odette and The Jezebels joined him by providing the perfect Saturday afternoon playlist. With the explosive Riverfire happening moments before City And Colour came on stage, it was the perfect pre show fireworks display you could ever hope for, in the most prime spot.
To coincide with this show, he announced his return to Australia in April 2020 for a full nationwide tour with special guest Alex Lahey. So if you’re having serious FOMO on missing out on this show, then get in quick with securing these tickets!
