SINGLE REVIEW: LAUV – Feelings

Love can be hard, love can be confusing, love can be intoxicating, And Lauv questions all those things in the opening moments of his new single ‘Feelings’.

“Is my love too much? Or is it just enough for you, for you?” he asks as his insecurities takes over. He’s in love but he’s worried he’s scaring his partner off from what the future could hold. It’s those dark sides of feelings that can inhabit your brain for longer than you’d wish.

But he’s hopeful and he wants to prove to her that he is the one. “I wanna do whatever you wanna do. If you wanted to, girl, we could cross that line. Know we’ve been friends and love only knows broken ends. Yeah, that’s what you said, but girl let me change your mind” he sings during the chorus.

The nostalgic soaked synths has this really cool 90’s feel to them as he croons about love and potential. But sonically the song stays in the one realm the whole time and doesn’t really manage to break down any further walls of experimenting deeper. It is what it is and he’s unashamedly honest about it. His feelings are there, the sound stays the same and he just sings about it.
