SINGLE REVIEW: Royal And The Southern Echo – Don’t Think About Me

Following the release of his debut EP ‘Correspondence’ late last year, Royal And The Southern Echo is returning with a vibrant indie pop-rock song that holds an anthemic touch. ‘Don’t Think About Me’ is one of those songs that upon a first listen will have you immediately drawn into the whole emotive storyline.

Reflecting on a heavy break-up, the Brisbane singer-songwriter doesn’t get lost in the heartbreak sentiment. Instead he picks himself up and looks towards self-healing and growth. It’s about being comfortable with who you are and not relying on someone else to help embody your identity. It has a very hopeful embodiment at it’s core that is elevated by the upbeat and memorable production that brings it into anthem territory. The chorus is super catchy and will have you singing along almost immediately. “I don’t care if you don’t care about me anymore”.

It’s a song that will just make you feel good about yourself in a moment that is sad at it’s core. And that’s exactly what he strived to do.

Following the release of this infectious and hopeful song, Royal And The Southern Echo will be performing at BIGSOUND and preparing to impress people with his energetic live show.
