SINGLE REVIEW: Taylor Henderson – Moving On

After being dropped by his label, Taylor Henderson decided to focus on what mattered most; playing shows and interacting with his fans. While touring Australia and reacquainting himself with audiences with an acoustic show of fan favourites and an exclusive premiere of some new songs, he reminded people of the storyteller he is. One of these new songs was the emotionally charged ‘Moving On’ which starts a new chapter in Henderson’s story. Exploring a break-up and the aftermath of having to watch the person he loved move on, he tries to get back up on his feet and start the process of moving on himself. Beginning the piano ballad by admitting that he made mistakes during their relationship and wasn’t perfect, he assures that his love was real and that he didn’t see the heartbreak coming. “I never planned this. To wake up on my own within a vacant room without your heart to call my own”.

Adding light guitars and drums throughout the production he builds up the emotional mood of the song in a evoking way. Co-written by Dean Lewis, this song has major potential if it’s added to mainstream radio. It’s relatable, catchy and has a lot of heart. In the chorus he questions what to do next and if their relationship is salvageable. “Do you still love me? Still need me? Cause I don’t know where I belong”.

He brings back his classic sound back to his listeners and showcases a growth in maturity as a songwriter and as an artist.
