SINGLE REVIEW: Mark Ronson feat. Camila Cabello – Find U Again

Mark Ronson is trying really hard to create music that will have you wanting to dance and cry at the same time. And so far his forthcoming fifth studio album ‘Late Night Feelings’ is delivering exactly that aesthetic. ‘Find U Again’ hears the British producer teaming up with popstar on the rising Camila Cabello for a groovy little reflective jam. Citing a lot of influences in 80’s synth pop, this song is quite sonically basic, but not in a bad way. The best 80’s songs are basic and that’s what makes them so great. So in this track Ronson doesn’t try to over complicate the production and keeps it at a funky medium. Reflecting on the art of moving on when you’re still in love, Cabello has you feeling ALL the emotions on this mini rollercoaster ride. “I’ll try to pass the night away with somebody new but they don’t have a shot when I compare them to you”. If you’ve ever been heartbroken then those lyrics will haunt you and take you right back to the place in your life where you were struggling to move on. It captures that raw emotion so perfectly but also enables you to dance the pain away naturally with it’s groovy and simple beat. The songs Ronson has released so far from the album haven’t been as standout as ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ but they are catchy and reflective enough that they are still impactful.
