SINGLE REVIEW: Graace – Have Fun At Your Party

Over the course of the past year, she has made you dance with ‘Kissing Boys’, she has made you cry during ‘Last Night’ and she’s made you reflect on some of your darkest insecurities through ‘Sorry In Advance’. GRAACE is an exciting newcomer with a whole lot of promise. The Sydney based singer-songwriter wowed audiences at BigSound with her first ever live performance and later dropped her vulnerable debut EP, ‘Self Sabotage’ which introduced her to a bigger audience. Having just wrapped up some European tour dates with Tom Walker, she’s heading to London, Los Angeles and San Francisco to do some headline shows before returning home to Australia.

Her new single ‘Have Fun At Your Party’ is a mid tempo indie-pop ballad that contrasts her insecurities with a sassy and slightly self pity view. “If I say I’m fine would you ever believe me? Got me dialing 911 can you come save me? Or did I let you down again, did I go crazy?”. Throughout the verses she confesses that she’s a mess and constantly screws up when she’s just trying to get over someone. But the chorus adds a little more attitude and dives into a true confessional. “Go have fun at your party. I’ll be sitting here sipping on thoughts of your body”. The moody beat continues the laid-back and dreamy production her debut EP introduced and is a great addition for her live shows.
