SINGLE REVIEW: Alpine – Dumb

It’s been a long time between releases for Melbourne indie-pop five piece, Alpine but after a four year break they are finally making their return. ‘Dumb’ is a slick indie-pop meets disco moment that sits in it’s own reflective world. With an almost psychedelic twist this song has that nostalgic groove and a stoner twist that you’ll immediately find yourself living vicariously thorough that trippy production. Reflecting on how someone can make you speechless and say stupid things at the same time, it has a really romantic and cute storyline. Because I know when I like someone I just word vomit and say the most random things that I end questioning why I just said that. “You make me dumb, you make me stupid. You make me dumb, you make me silly”. It has this laid-back and catchy groove to the pulsating disco production that you will find yourself instantly tapping your foot and finding your own groove within the music. It’s a simple concept that has been executed so well and really re-introduces them to listeners well as it’s cute and catchy and whole heatedly groovy, just like the rest of their discography.
