SINGLE REVIEW: Delilah Montagu – Temptation

Sometimes a debut single from an industry newcomer will just come out of nowhere and hit you right in the feels and that’s exactly what Delilah Montagu’s debut track has done. ‘Temptation’ is an vulnerable and intimate affair that hears her baring her truth and serving you beautiful and soulful vocals full of raw emotion. The UK singer-songwriter has gone from featuring on David Guetta’s track ‘Drive’ to being introduced to the world as Sony Music’s exciting new signing. From the opening bars of the track she offers you soft and and honest vocals with a simple piano accompaniment. With the melodical growth of the song she layers in harmonies but keeps it stripped back with just a piano and her soothing soulful vocals as the key focus of this song. I love that she hasn’t over saturated this song with strings and unnecessary production but instead has embraced the pure vulnerability this song embodies. “Baby I’ve been wondering about this love. Why is it you’re the one I choose to trust?” It’s a very simple and stunning song that showcases her raw talent and welcomes her into the world as an impressive and must watch newcomer.
