SINGLE REVIEW: Mark Ronson feat Lykke Li – Late Night Feelings

After the massive success of ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’, Mark Ronson is ready to continue the emotional vibes with the release of his fifth studio album. ‘Late Night Feelings’ sees the English producer teaming up with the likes of Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello and King Princess. Ahead of it’s June 21 release date he has dropped the title track as a little teaser of what else is to come from this disco inspired affair. Featuring Lykke Li they recount the desire of wanting to call someone and speak to them about your inner most honest thoughts about them which can be a dangerous game. “When I get to want ya and I wanna call ya with late night feelings”. The breezy and relaxed disco production has you comfortably bopping your head along and tapping your foot but the whole time you’re waiting for something more. The song kind of stays in one vibe and doesn’t really have a moment of euphoric or reflective release. It seems to constantly work it’s way up to something big but draws back into the same disco sound which is a little disappointing. It feels like he’s holding back a lot and with retro disco you should never hold back.
