SINGLE REVIEW: Basenji feat Erthlings – Perfect Blue

Basenji really knows how to deliver a strong indie-pop meets EDM banger. I mean, ‘Mistakes’ featuring Tkay Maidza was an anthem in it’s own right whilst ‘Nobody’s Home’ featuring Mallrat has become a 2019 summer hit. So as the producer wraps up supporting Mallrat on her sold out ‘Nobody’s Home Tour’ he’s decided to drop a dreamy and emotional new track. Premiering ‘Perfect Blue’ as the closing track on his support slot, this song instantly became a track fans wanted to properly hear. Teaming up with the dreamy indie-pop four-piece Erthlings he has exceed your expectations and given you a polished track full of emotion. Candidly admitting “Don’t know how to live if it’s not with you”, this heartbreak track is fuelled by a hopelessness that creeps through the cracks of love. What are you meant to do if someone wants to move on. What are you meant to do if you need to rebuild your life without someone but you don’t want to. What if you’re afraid you’re going to lose someone and just want to hold onto them tighter? It’s a track that questions all of those motives and turns those emotions into a euphoric release. The hook is less of a club banger than it is a festival banger. It really is meant to be sung with hundreds of people on each others shoulders and yelling the lyrics out. It’s one of those moments.
