MUSIC NEWS: Splendour In The Grass 2019 Line Up

Let’s be honest, Splendour in The Grass is the holy grail of festivals in Australia. I mean after all, it’s pretty much our version of Coachella, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza with some of the worlds biggest music names coming together for a weekend of non-stop memories, hot days, cold nights and some big sing-alongs. Over it’s 18 years of running we’ve seen Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Florence + The Machine, Mumford & Sons, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, Lana Del Rey, Flume, Coldplay, Outkast and Kanye West play the highly praised festival and 2019 sees yet another massive line up of artists making their way to the Byron Bay Parklands.

Over the weekend of July 19-21, we will see Tame Impala, Childish Gambino and Chance The Rappe headlining the massive festival which in itself is a pretty epic line up. But joining that list is a even bigger crop of international acts including SZA, Foals, Catfish And The Bottlemen, James Blake, The Lumineers and Santigold. But lets not forget about the massive Australian talent on the bill including What So Not, Matt Corby, Dean Lewis, Meg Mac, Courtney Barnett, The Rubens and our New Zealand favourites, Broods. The diversity throughout the line up is pretty big and sees so many different genres and unique stories coming together.

The biggest surprise act comes from SZA which will be her first trip down under since her debut Australian shows for FOMO. Whilst the inclusion of Tame Impala and Childish Gambino was pretty expected, the reaction has already been received quite highly with their long awaited return frequently talked about. But the one act that I’m going to pick as a MUST WATCH at this year’s festival is San Francisco singer/songwriter and rapper K.FLAY who is a unique force to be reckoned with.

Tickets go on sale on sale at 9am AEST next Thursday, April 11 through Moshtix. But get in quick cause it will undoubtedly sell out VERY quickly.
