With their new album on “coming soon” status, it’s expected that this record will drop in time for their massive (and confusing) co-headlining tour with 5 Seconds Of Summer. To keep the momentum going they’ve dropped another new single which tries to replicate their interesting EDM they’ve been recently delivering. But sadly it just doesn’t deliver. ‘Kills You Slowly’ is a seemingly boring EDM track that doesn’t go anywhere. It’s sonically lacking depth as it just lays flat with the same production. There is no drop or experimental production structure. Instead they just give an overused R&B production which is no longer exciting in this current musical climate because everyone is doing it. I guess you could say that this is The Chainsmokers attempt at a ballad but maybe they should just stick at what they are used to. Or give something a little stronger? Because even the “emotionally fuelled” lyrics are average at best. Next.
