SINGLE REVIEW: Kyle Lionhart – So Close

After the release of his two EP’s and touring with the likes of Xavier Rudd and Josh Pyke, Byron Bay singer-songwriter Kyle Lionhart has made quite the name for himself. With millions of streams on Spotify alone he’s established himself as an emotional and reflective soul that you want to familiarise yourself with. His new single ‘So Close’ continues that trend but also moves forward towards a bigger festival ready sound. With a huge hook that explodes with drums, angst and a pulsating guitar riff he offers a big sound whilst still offering soothing vocals and emotional lyrics. Reflecting on the end of a relationship, he is slightly bitter about the way they are ending things because he really did see a future with them. “We were so close to walking down the same path”. He also reflects on all of his past decisions and everything that was revealing around in his life at the time. So the song does have quite a heavy eight to it even though the chorus feels so light and empowering. it’s a catchy track that will compliment and enhance his live show whilst also introducing him to more listeners.
