As a solo artist, Louis Tomlinson hasn’t seemed to have the same success as the other members of One Direction. His vocals have never been the strongest in the band and he was really the key harmoniser and songwriter towards the end of their journey. So it’s hard to hide behind this when it’s just you in the spotlight and his releases so far have highlighted this. After taking a year break between releases he’s finally returned with his heartbreaking new single ‘Two Of Us’. The pop ballad is dedicated to his mother who passed away from a battle with Leukemia in 2016. It reflects on his experience with grief and how he will never forget her. “This morning I woke up still dreaming with memories playing through my head. You’ll never know how much I miss you. The day that they took you, I wish it was me instead”. It’s lyrically touching and beautiful and with it’s pop production it really captures that classic ballad sound that you grew up loving. However his vocals just don’t capture the raw emotion and feelings you expect to feel when you listen to a song like this. Instead it just falls a little flat and becomes quite forgettable. If he had a powerhouse vocal range then this song would be lifted to a whole new level, but he doesn’t. Instead it just comfortably sits at one tone.

WTF do you mean ? don’t you know anything about music ? He sounds beautiful and it’s very emotional and touching… Don’t say crap about his angelic voice !!
