SINGLE REVIEW: Mika – Sound Of An Orchestra

It’s been twelve years since Mika captivated the world with his colourful, vibrant and euphoric debut album ‘Life In Cartoon Motion’ which embodied a very bold and fulfilling pop sound. Since then the English singer-songwriter has been releasing underrated albums that are full of little pop gems that deserve to be heard. With his fifth studio album scheduled to be released later this year, Mika has decided to kick off 2019 with the album’s first single. ‘Sound Of An Orchestra’ is a euphoric and sweet pop track that delivers a raw quirkiness and energy that is reminiscent of his early material. The romantic track details the feelings of falling for someone and being absolutely in awe of everything they do. “This is the sound of an orchestra. I can hear it playing everywhere that you are”. It’s a very sweet and bubbly song that has an arena ready chorus that will see him continuing to play arena’s and stadiums in Europe. The chorus hears him injecting a slight folk-pop twist that is similar to Sheppard and the current radio trend which has the potential to hit mainstream radio. With every listen the euphoric and cute song will grow on you and have you feeling all gushy inside. While it may not be an immediate hit like ‘Grace Kelly’ or ‘Love Today’, it is a cute and enjoyable track.
