SINGLE REVIEW: Fleur East – Favourite Thing

After her very successful stint on the UK season of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Fleur East returns with her massive long awaited comeback. ‘Favourite Thing’ is the X Factor finalists first single since her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love, Sax & Flashbacks’ in 2015. The reason behind the long wait is unknown but what is known is that it was definitely worth the wait. The song kicks off where the album left off with high octane funky brilliance that will have you wanting to get down and groovy. The rhythmic and African influence interpolates well with the big pop band feel that her music has always embodied. From the opening tribal cries, this song will immediately bring a massive smile to your face with it’s arena ready sound that Jennifer Lopez, Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora will be envious of. It has a strong commercial potential because it’s so catchy. It’s nothing too serious or complicated, it’s just a fun and easy pop song and that’s why it works so well. The intoxicated love-drunk feeling will drip-feed into your love for this funky song. “Cause it’s so damn good when you’re on my body. Kissing me like you should until I say don’t stop it. Never felt so damn good. So when you’re on my body, the look of you is making me think you’re my new favourite thing”
