SINGLE REVIEW: Ariana Grande – Imagine

I will be the first one to admit it and say that I wasn’t immediately convinced with ‘Thank U, Next’. But it quickly won me over with it’s empowering and honest delivery. The way the simplistic beat commands your attention with it’s truthful lyrics is commendable. The only questionable thing about it was the timing, it felt a little icky and I still stand by that statement. But moving on, she’s broken records and quickly created one of the biggest buzzes surrounding her forthcoming fifth studio album of the same name. With a release date still uncertain, the songstress has dropped another moody and sensual track that continues the low key RNB vibe she introduced on ‘Sweetner’. The loved up track explores unattainable love which sits somewhere in the “now and forever” territory. It’s a dreamy and beautiful moment that will have you reminiscing on your previous relationships and wishing things played out differently. “We go like up til I’m asleep on your chest. Love how my face fits so good in your neck. Why can’t you imagine a world like that?”. The rhythmic flow is so breezy and has you spacing out in this moody and reflective musical word she’s created. It’s not as impactful or game changing as ‘Thank U, Next’ but it plays as a great transition into the new record.
