The alternative rock vibes of Holy Holy have been circulating on Triple J for a couple of years now with tracks like ‘True Lovers’, ‘Sentimental And Monday’ and ‘Elevator’ receiving heavy rotation. The Melbourne based duo have coincidently toured a lot and constantly receive raving reviews for their energetic and powerful live shows. They have this unique way of blending together slick rock formulas with crunching guitars and soothing melodies. It’s only been a year since the release of their sophomore studio album ‘Paint’ but they are already back with a punchy new single with a whole lot of attitude. ‘Faces’ is one of those alternatively driven tracks which ignites a big and unconventional singalong. And it works so well. To coincide with the release they’ve hit the road for a bunch of headlining dates including a sold out show in Brisbane with San Mei and Clews. Night one (of two) at The Triffid saw the band delivering high energy as well as a solid selection of tracks from their releases including their cool Triple J Like A Version cover of Beyonce’s ‘Hold Up’.
