SINGLE REVIEW: Rita Ora – Let You Love Me

Rita Ora’s second studio album has received a lot of set backs over the past five years but ’Phoenix’ has finally been given the green light and been slated for a November 23 release date. Alongside with the exciting announcement the London singer-songwriter has dropped a brand new single to get you in the mood. ‘Let You Love Me’ is a predictable dance-pop fusion that sits somewhere comfortably between ‘Your Song’ and ‘Lonely Together’. It’s a basic pop song that is probably her least impacting single yet but it’s still catchy enough to have you singing and grooving along after a first listen. The song reflects on being scared to fall in love with someone but also wanting to take the risk to open up even though you may get hurt. “See I wanna stay the whole night. I wanna lay with you till the sun’s up. I wanna let you inside. Oh, heaven knows I’ve tried”. Sonically the beats are a little overused and don’t jump out as anything different or new.  It’s nothing groundbreaking but it’s a nice little instant-grat song to collide with her album pre-order.
