SINGLE REVIEW: Imagine Dragons – Zero

The boys from Imagine Dragons are becoming a little unstoppable. With a sell out world tour, chart topping singles and a never-ending consistency of radio play this band are truly making their impact. Whilst some of their releases have been a little predictable the band have been recently making a conscious effort to release experimental and heartfelt releases. To add to their growing resume the Las Vegas four piece have joined up with Walt Disney to deliver the lead single for the ‘Ralph Wrecks The Internet’ soundtrack. ‘Zero’ is an infectious and empowering pop-rock track that aims to encourage and empower anyone who feels a little defeated by people who make fun of them. “Hello, hello let me tell you what it’s like to be a zero, zero. Let me show you what it’s like to always feel, feel like I’m empty and there’s nothing really real, real. I’m looking for a way out”. It also adds a stride of never giving up which is super powerful and important in this unsettling social media world we live in along with the importance of opening up to people. “Well let me tell you ’bout it. They say the truth will set you free”. Set to an upbeat pop-rock production this song will be quickly added to radio and will be shortly cemented in your head as it’s one of their catchiest songs this year. It’s a little cheesy and gimmicky but with Disney behind the scenes that doesn’t really come as a surprise.
