SINGLE REVIEW: GRAACE – Last Night

After dazzling a packed crowd on the final night of BigSound, GRAACE has released her brand new single which allows listeners to hear a different side to the songstress. ‘Last Night’ is a stripped back and emotionally driven ballad which steers away from the playful sound ‘Kissing Boys’ delivered. For this moody little moment she reflects on her actions in her previous relationships that have caused them to end and takes responsibility instead of blaming them like she has done in the past. “And I blinded you cause I loved your eyes. And I took your voice cause I loved to lie. And I weighed you down, so I learned to fly. Last night I made you cry”. It’s a very reflective track that is emotionally raw and takes you on this journey of self discovery. You can hear the emotion seeping through her vocal delivery and helps paint her as this very visual storyteller. The minimalistic production has this euphoric feeling with the impact of the light drums during the chorus highlighting her reflective thoughts. Her fellow unreleased songs hear her continuing this sound with a bit more of a indie-pop delivery that will see her appearing in your playlists more and more.
