SINGLE REVIEW: Havana Brown – Glimpse

It’s been a little while since we have received new original music from Havana Brown, so yeah, it’s about time. The Australian singer-songwriter and producer has made her long awaited comeback with a new song, a new sound and a whole new vibe. ‘Glimpse’ hears her returning to her RNB roots and exploring a darker sound that is moody, fun and seductive. The hip-hop beat is a lot grittier to her usual pop focused electronic hooks. But this song still has a pop feel with the smooth melody that shines through during the hook. Whilst this may be quite the departure to her earlier material it does make a lot of sense as hip-hop music is really dominating clubs at the moment. So as a producer she really is delivering what her fans and consumers are listening to at the moment. The structure is quite simple but it’s effective as the hook will be instantly stuck in your head and you won’t stop singing along. “Bottle after bottle take a sip. Water on my AP watch it drip. Think I need a napkin for my wrist. All my diamonds dripping please don’t slip”. This is a very strong comeback for Havana Brown and will have you intrigued to hear what she does next.
