With Billie Eilish’s debut album expected to be released later this year the young songstress has released a brand new single for your ears. ‘You Should See Me In A Crown’ is a departure from the ballad ‘Lovely’ which was debuted as the lead single for the upcoming project. This track hears a gritty and heavy electronic influence taking over the production with synths laying over a captivating beat. Her soothing and melodic vocals tell this sassy and seductive story of triumph and victory which was inspired by the hit TV show ‘Sherlock’. Eilish and her brother/producer Finneas were watching the show and loved a line from Jim Moriarty who said, “In a world of locked rooms, the man with the key is king. And honey, you should see me in a crown”. So the song’s lyrical concept came from there and they built this captivating and unique production around it. It perfectly carries on the bold and dark sound they’ve always delivered but just adds an even grittier and sassier feel to it. I’m going to be honest when I say this isn’t her best song compared to ‘Watch’ and ‘My Boy’ but it still is very enjoyable and will have you vibing along instantly.
