Rudimental recently announced that they would be releasing their third studio album ‘Toast To Our Differences’ this September and is expected to bring a lot of dancehall vibes. But the English drum and bass band have teamed up with Anne-Marie again for a very different new song. ‘Let Me Live’ also hears them teaming up with Major Lazer for this reggae influenced dancehall track. It’s a slight change in musical direction which is influenced by Major Lazer and is less predictable than their previous material. It still has that signature Rudimental sound which was starting to become a little boring but this facelift has given it a new life. Anne-Marie’s vocals perfectly intertwine with this sound and gives it a new edge. You will find yourself instantly grooving along to the beat and moving your hips. The song looks at not letting anyone bring you down and realising that you are in control of your feelings. “Leave me alone, let me live my life. Leave me alone, let me live it up, live it up”. It’s very basic but it has a nice empowering feelings to it. Whilst it may not be a groundbreaking track or an instant number one, it does have real potential to infect people with it’s carefree attitude.
