2017 saw Maggie Rogers touring around the world and sharing her unique voice and story with so many different people. ‘Alaska’ was an enchanting song that opened so many doors for the singer-songwriter and in 2018 she’s ready to do it all over again with her forthcoming debut album. ‘Fallingwater’ is Rogers first single for the year and it is a peaceful indie-pop song about rapid change. It continues the sound her EP ‘Now That The Light Is Fading’ introduced with pulsating beats that drive the sound along with her smooth and soothing harmonies. It reflects on her last two years and celebrates the rapid changes that have happened in her life and how they can be exciting and scary at the same time. “I never loved you fully in the way I could. I fought the current running just the way you would and now I’m stuck upstream and it’s getting harder. I’m like falling water”. It has this really euphoric and reflective feel to it that you can’t help but smile along to when you listen. Her vocals are as captivating as ever before and bring this raw calmness to the delivery. It grows on you with each listen and will have you eagerly awaiting the next release.
