So it’s official, Amy Shark is actually taking over the world. Her breakthrough hit “Adore” catapulted her into the spotlight and saw her perform on the massive US talk shows James Corden and Jimmy Fallon, sell out headline shows globally and also tour alongside the likes of Sia and play incredible festivals. Following the release of her critically acclaimed EP “Night Thinker” the Gold Coast singer-songwriter is finally releasing her debut album “Love Monster” on July 13 just in time for her coveted set at Splendour In The Grass. The lead single “I Said Hi” is a triumphant pop track that hears her honing her sound and delivering pure empowerment and emotion. The song reflects on the inner battle of staying true to yourself while also trying to deal with the issues surrounding your life. It’s abut fighting for what you believe in and not giving into the struggle. During the bridge she vulnerably confesses “And I bet the whole world thought that I would give up” while in the chorus she’s gives a sassier and empowering take on her haters and inner demons. “Tell em all I said hi, hope you’ve been well, you’ve been asleep while I’ve been in hell. Tell em all I said hi, have a nice day, I’ll be just fine, don’t worry bout me”. The production is very bold and embodies that bigger sound that “Weekends” and “Blood Brothers” strived towards. It’s super catchy and empowering and will have you singing along straight away. Along with her song “Sink In” which was included on the “Love Simon Soundtrack”, Amy Shark is really proving that she’s not just a one hit wonder and that she’s ready to give you more emotional and killer tracks with a bolder sound.
