I really haven’t been impressed by the promotional roll out for Kylie Minogue’s upcoming fourteenth studio album “Golden”. The songs sound dated with an overused country meets dance production that Avicii entertained us with in 2013. The reviews from her album preview shows have mocked her calling her “the best Dolly Parton impersonator” and its equally tragic and funny. But with the album being officially released next week she’s dropped one last song and it’s probably the strongest one yet. “Raining Glitter” hears her grasping onto that country-dance sound but injects a retro disco influence that will have you feeling all those old school Kylie vibes. The song has this very euphoric and romantic feel that that will have you wishing it was raining glitter (no pun attended). “Raining glitter down on us tonight, covering us all in magic. Never ever seen them stars so bright as they look in your eyes”. The disco production is a good throwback to her old material which honestly needs to be revisited more. The whole country-pop sound has been done a lot in the last 2 years. Can she just move on and deliver us more pop-disco bops?
