SINGLE REVIEW: Chvrches – Never Say Die

chvrches-love-is-dead

Chvrches will release their third studio album “Love Is Dead” on May 25th and so far the singles have been a little underwhelming. They have big choruses but the production is a little predictable and safe. The Scottish trio have just released a new single which restores the faith with an experimental layer and pure synth-pop hook. “Never Say Die” starts with a fading pulsating synth that starts to build before bursting into a massive and brash hook. The big chorus will have you ready to jump and scream the lyrics out during their upcoming festival run of shows. Lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry questions a lovers intentions. “Wasn’t it gonna be fun and wasn’t it gonna be new? Wasn’t it gonna be different and wasn’t it gonna be true? Didn’t you say that?”. This is definitely the boldest track they’ve released yet for this new record and is the one that will get you the most excited. Is it completely new for them? No. But it is insanely catchy and memorable.
