Multi instrumentalist Lanks will release his debut album “twentyseven” on April 27 and if you’ve followed his career up to this point then you will understand why it’s exciting that we are finally getting a full LP. His emotive tracks are DIY gold of indie-pop meets electronic beats. The albums lead single “My Own Mystery” was released at the end of last year and now with the albums date officially announced he’s also released the title track for your listening pleasure. “Twentyseven” is a vibey, percussion heavy track that reminds me of Yeo’s production style along with Drake’s recently rhythmic percussion flow. He reflects on all the big changes that have happened in his life and the pressures around success and what it actually all means. The song comes at the perfect time as he has just got married (Congrats Lanks!) and represents all the new changes happening in his life. It’s a very catchy and vibey tune that is pure easy listening and hears him evolving as an artist yet again.
